THE CARVER

Stratton Escape Room - Puzzle EK.jpg

I recently came across this carved tree in my woods with the initials “EK.” I am mad! We allow five families to hunt on our land; the Kennenbaums, Kays, Kents, Kestles, and Kurtleys. To keep it safe, they have all agreed to only hunt on one assigned day of the week. Like some sort of hunting uniform, each family wears uniquely colored clothes; white camouflage, blaze orange, green camouflage, green woolen plaid, and leather kilts. Strangely, each family also has one person whose name begins with an E; Erik, Erin, Eaton, Evan, and Eden. All I know is that I found a piece of white camouflage still lodged in this tree, so I am pretty sure who ever wore this also did the deed. My kindly neighbor interviewed each family but could only provide fragments of information. Perhaps he was worried about making a fuss. Can you HELP me find who did this! I need their first and last names.

Here’s what we know…

No one in the Kennenbaum clan would ever wear a kilt and they have always hunted on Mondays.

Erin, certainly not a Kestle, hunts earlier in the week than Evan and later than the Kents.

Only people who hunt on Tuesdays or Thursdays would even consider wearing green pants.

Erik only wears orange. Eden, Eaton, and Erin only wear pants.

Wednesday hunters never wear leather.

Eden is not a Kent.

The Kays believe that camouflage is cheating, and therefore never wear it.

Neither Eaton nor Eden wears wool or hunts on Thursday.

The Kays will only hunt on Monday or Friday so that it feels more like a three day weekend.

No one would ever wear white on a Friday or orange on a Wednesday.

The one who wears green camouflage hunts on Tuesday.

The Kurtleys are friends with the family that hunts on Wednesday and also Eaton.

Last year Erin shared her venison with the Kents, who did not get a deer.
